Ever heard of an Onyko home theater sound system? If you’re not an audio, video, or home theater enthusiast, probably not, but there’s no time like the present to learn. Onyko makes one of the lesser known, yet best home theater products on the market today, and if you purchase something from them, you will not be disappointed.

For example, the Onkyo HT-S6305 offers a 7.1 surround sound system with four HDMI 1.4 inputs for a wide range of sources – and it also supports the new 3D technology. Not only that, but you can plug in your iPod or iPhone, and listen to your Blu-ray movies in HD audio.

Here are 3 reasons to make Onyko a part of your next home theater system.

1. It adds audio to your whole room
There is nothing worse than a family or great room that has a few pieces of furniture and a TV and nothing else. It just doesn’t feel like somewhere I’d want to sit and hang out all day. Add a home theater system though, and now we’re talking.

An Onyko home theater system adds depth, dimension, better audio and video, as well as a savvy and modern feel to the room. Would you rather watch a movie out of the built in TV speakers, or out of 7 speakers distributed throughout the entire room? Yeah, I thought so.

2. Friends will want to visit
Add a home theater system to your house, and you are virtually guaranteed to be the talk of the town. Friends, family, and coworkers will be head over heels and trying everything they can to come over and hang out just to get a look at your setup. If you love entertaining, or even if you’d just like people to notice you more often, one of the best ways to get more popular is to install a home theater system and throw a party.

3. It gives you an excuse to watch tv
We all slack off and procrastinate, some of us more than others. Nobody wants to be bogged down all day with mountains of work and no breaks, and at the end of the day, all we want to do is kick back and relax on the couch. Well, with a home theater system, both become immediately possible.

Install one and you won’t want to move from your chair all day long. Work and life will become secondary to your comfort as you tune out the world.

Imagine, something that gives you an excuse to watch TV!

Productivity might slip a tad, but isn’t it worth it when you look back and see how comfortable and happy you were while you procrastinated your life away?

If the Onkyo HT-S6305 is too expensive for your budget, then you can also buy entry level models like the AVX-380 which provides fewer features, but still provides a great improvement on the audio you get from your HDTV.

I am looking for a nice surround sound to hook up that’s easy to install, doesn’t have a ridiculous amount of wires, produces fantastic sound, and has enough hookups so I can play my games with it. I have looked at Best buy and Bose but I have no idea what the differences are. I was looking at this because of the rear speakers, they are somewhat wireless.

http://www.buy.com/prod/sony-blu-ray-5-1-home-theatre-system-bdvis1000/q/loc/111/210190784.html

I would also want something I can hook my i Pod up into so I can play music when I have parties. I definitely do not want to spend more than 1000. I also would like to have a DVD player built in, a good one to say the least and BLU-Ray is fine too but not needed. I have a relatively smaller living room so I don’t have much room, especially to put a massive woofer. If anyone can guide me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

For less than $1000 you can have a nice in a box system, but you didn`t mention what TV you have, a HDTV?What games you want to play?Old consoles or new ones?
Provide me with that info I can help you better via e-mail if you want, I helped three persons here to buy good stuffs.
Built in DVD player are a problem, separated is better , also wireless speakers are crap because you can have easily interference.I know receiver with docking station for iPods too.

One of the major reasons to go to the movie cinema is the theater’s sound system and its ability to immerse you in the action through sound. As home theater technology has continued to improve, home theater owners find that they can match or exceed the local movie theater’s sound through their own home theater system.

Today’s typical home theater will have a 5.1 speaker setup which includes 5 speakers, a left and right main speaker, a center channel speaker and two surround speakers, along with a dedicated low frequency effects channel which is the .1.

To enjoy the magic of the movies in the comfort of your own home try the following simple speaker placement tips.

1. Make sure the center channel is “anchored” to the screen. The center channels function is to communicate the movie’s dialog. If the actor’s mouth is moving on the screen, but if the sound appears to be coming from off the screen the dialog will seem unnatural. A center channel speaker will be shielded so that you can place it directly on top of or below your tv.

2. Place the tweeters from your main speakers at ear level. In order to get the speakers to the proper ear level you will want to invest in a quality pair of speaker stands.

3. Each of the front three speakers, the main left, the main right and the center channel should all be placed at an equal distance from the main listening position and should be pointed towards the listener. The speakers should also be placed so that they have a slight natural arc. They generally should be placed between 22 – 30 degrees from the main listening position.

4. Surround sound speakers should be placed directly to the left and right or slightly behind the main listening position and should be located about two feet above ear level. A 6.1 system adds a third surround speaker behind the listener. It is important to note that it is best for that speaker not to be directly in line with the center channel. A 7.1 system adds a rear left and a rear right full range surround channel that should be added behind the listening position.

5. From my experience, nothing will add more impact to your movie watching experience then the addition of a quality subwoofer to your setup. Since deep bass is non directional, you can place your subwoofer pretty much anywhere. Many people will place it in the front corner, but some prefer it in the back or hidden along the side. It is important to note that generally bass will be enhanced by being placed next to the wall and even more so if placed in the corner.

These simple tips will get you started towards an enjoyable home theater experience. Every speaker and room have their own unique qualities so use this information as a guide, but experiment further with speaker placement in your own home. Moving a speaker even a few inches can make a dramatic impact on the quality of the sound.

Although the new flat screen tvs are what is getting everyone’s attention, a quality sound system with properly placed speakers are what helps transform regular television viewing into a true cinematic experience.

It’s coming!

It’s coming on February 17, 2009! It’s about to cut off the signal to your TV, and most likely you’re not prepared for it!It’s almost as big a shift in home entertainment as happened sixty years ago when television replaced radio in America’s living rooms! It’s DTV! Digital Television is going to change the way you watch television, and how you interact with your TV set. You’re finally going to get movie theater quality picture and sound at home!

• Digital TV is also going to reach into your pocketbook! All U.S. broadcast stations will stop sending analog TV signals, the kind your regular TV reads, on February 17, 2009. Without a new converter box, your TV will not work!
• Many stations are broadcasting a digital DTV signal right now along side their analog signal, but after 2009 they’ll only transmit in DTV.
• This digital signal can only be properly viewed on a new Plasma, DLP or LCD TV. If you don’t own one, you’ll need a converter box to watch digital signals “dumbed down” to show on your analog TV. In addition to the new Big Screen TV, you’ll also need a Dolby Surround Sound amplifier and speakers to get the DTV Dolby sound.
• All new TVs sold must have a digital tuner built-in as of March 1, 2007. Your old analog TV will need a set top converter box to receive television broadcasts after February 2009.
• Your cable provider may be able to send you digital cable or digital satellite signals right now, but that doesn’t mean that you can see High Definition programs on your television. If you have an old style picture tube television, a converter in your cable box can take the digital signal and “dumb it down” to analog so that you can see it. You’re still not seeing the super sharp DTV picture, or hearing the crystal clear digital sound.
• Digital Pictures will be free from the flicker, ghosts and snow seen on analog transmissions. More than twice as sharp as Standard TV, DTV signals allow crystal clear images with higher resolution and picture quality than is possible with old style TV.

(If you’re not familiar with some of the terms used above – DTV, digital, analog – Google the “123 Guide To Plasma TV.com”)

• DTV will provide programming in wide screen “movie format”. The digital picture is so sharp you’ll be able to read the small text from your computer hooked up to the TV screen.
• DTV allows multicasting: broadcasters can provide a super sharp High Definition (HDTV) program or several Standard Definition programs at the same time. Sending several program streams on one channel is called “multicasting”. The number of programs a station can send on one digital channel depends on the sharpness (resolution) of each program. DTV can provide interactive video and data services that are not possible with the old analog technology.
• DTV features Dolby Surround Sound to give you that full movie theater sound in your home instead of the old, tinny TV sound you grew up with. With a Surround Sound tuner and speakers installed, you’ll get roaring, sparkling sound assaulting your family from all directions: front, sides and rear!
• If you don’t have cable or satellite TV, you’ll need a Plasma or LCD TV with a DTV tuner, or a digital-to-analog converter box to see digital signals on your analog TV. Converter boxes will be available in retail stores during the transition.
• The National Telecommunications and Information Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce will issue two $40.00 coupons per household that can be applied toward the purchase of digital-to-analog converter boxes. Coupons will be issued starting January 1, 2008.
• An Integrated DTV set is a digital TV with a built-in digital decoder or DTV receiver. If you have an Integrated DTV and live in an area with a DTV broadcast station, you won’t need anything else. You may need an antenna (an outdoor antenna is best) to receive over-the-air DTV broadcast programming. Integrated TVs can receive and display current analog signals.

Television is about to leap out of the Stone Age into the future! Make sure you’re ready for it!

It’s as easy as 123!
